ABOUT THE RELEASE
The Daring Man casts a melancholic but lucid look on the world around him, constantly searching for a place to fit in. Refusing to follow the trends and diktats of a time in which he feels he doesn’t belong, he elegantly sings his disenchantment on a bewitching and timeless music.
Cédric Heyraud and Grégoire Auclerc-Galland share a passion for the deep and ageless rock of artists from the Anglosphere such as Tindersticks, Nick Drake or Elysian Fields. Their songs are introspective journeys driven by nostalgia, conveying a cinematic aesthetic. The Brussels-based band has produced 2 EPs titled The Daring Man (2 tracks), Things That Matter (5 tracks) and several videos.
Save Me From The Cold tells the tale of a man lost in the corporate world, contributing to the destruction of the environment. While enjoying the pleasures of wealth and unrestrained consumption, he realises his life is devoid of meaning. He calls out for help, hoping to be rescued.
For this song the band decided to add a horn section, which brings a 70’s soul feel to the arrangements and production. This choice is a reference to artists such as Marvin Gaye, Van Morrison or Bill Withers.
